How Dare You

Just a real quick blog entry today, just to let you know that the How Dare You site has another great challenge "Take Off a Printed Editoral". Create something that is inspired by a Printed Editoral, it can be anything you like, have a go, it really is a lot of fun, and you could win a lovely pack from Finishing Touches.

I created a hanger inspired by the Target Ad, it is an ad I always remember, plenty of flowers, plus the trade mark circles stuck onto transparency with gems and also hung from transparency.
You will also see other great inspirational projects by Jen Hall, Michelle Grant, Kelsey O'Mullane, Marni Telford and Kate Mason.

Have a great day !!

Lovely Emails

Well it has been another busy month for me I haven't long got back from Canberra where I had a great time. Everyone who visited my stand thankyou so much it was really lovely to meet you all, this is why I love doing the shows.

Two ladies that I never thought I would have the pleasure of meeting was Moira and Philippa, what can I say, they were both the most wonderful and down to earth ladies, and Moira thankyou so much for doing the class I really hope you enjoyed it.

I have been receiving the most loveliest emails, from all over Australia, from ladies that have visited me on my travels with regards to my display or have just been visiting my blog, on my 3 Dimensional style, on how much I have inspired them to get scrapping again it really has knocked me over, thankyou so much and if you haven't received an email from me I promise to email you very soon. This has really made all the hours of preparation worth while, lets just say it has been an awful lot of hours, mostly done late at night, not to disrupt the family LOL !! but an amazing experience.

I am off to New Zealand next month around the 17th September, to do the class before and then to do the Craft and Quilt show, but also we are having a family holiday, which I must admit I really need. It will be great to have some time out, and just relax and enjoy my family.

Just a quick note to all the ladies that have heard back from SM in regards to the Masters, I do know some ladies that have got this far, so good luck to you and also to everyone else.

I just thought I would share a layout and a couple of cards that went into Stamping and Papercrafts.

This layout went into SM "Dad", I used the new Extreme Boy Range of Junkitz products to create this layout, which were awesome to use. Not the best photo of this layout, but I love the layout, and the photo of Mike and Chaise together.

Also the Candle holder done for S&P using the Lily Kate range of papers by Basic Grey, I think these papers would have to be my favourite BG papers of all time. This was a special project for S&P, which I really enjoyed doing, I also used Prima flowers.

Then I have also created two cards for S&P also using Junkitz products, the Fanciful Range and the Love Line, I also used glitter letter at the side of the Love You card which I thought was a little different, and back to basics with my Retro Punch on the Birthday Wish Card. I wasn't allowed to 3D so I basically 3D the cards background instead, I loved the results.

Well that is about it from me I hope you all have a great weekend.

How Dare You

The How Dare You site has had a face lift with a few new members and a couple of old members joining up again, so if you would like to be inspired just go and check out the site, it is well worth the look, and join in and you could win a great selection of goodies supplied by Helmar Australia.

I am off as you know to Canberra next Wednesday for Craft and Quilt, so if anyone is passing I really would love to meet you, so please come and say hi.

I have also been asked about my kits, I did not get the time this month, as so much was on, and also the loss of my Nan, but in the next couple of weeks I will have them ready to go, so if you would like to just keep checking back.

I also have a layout to share, this DT layout was for Scrapbook City, I used the Basic Grey "Infuse" Range of products again "LOVE THEM". I gave the layout a full transparency background and created gem swirls, I also created my own heart, because I did not have one at the time, and really wanted to have it backed onto a heart, so the next best thing was to make it. It is a photo of Mike and Me, and it is a very rare occasion that we actually get a photo of ourselves together, so I just love it. Not the best photo, so I have also done a side shot as well.

I have a couple more layouts to share from the Retreat, but I have to take photos before I can share, but I do have this layout called "Fun Time Ahead", I used K & Company papers for this layout of my little boy Chaise, so cute !!
Also I would just like to tell you about a website Called Scrap Therapy, the lovely Natalie own this fabulous site, so go and take a look and enjoy.
Well that is it until I get back from Canberra, take care and all the very best .

Retreat

Well, I had the most wonderful time away last weekend, it was unreal.

Lauren and I went to the Scrapbooking City Retreat and we had a ball, we met so many nice ladies. Leisa and Kerri the owners of Scrapbook City are simply amazing, they made me feel so welcome.

I had a class before the retreat where I met my first lot of really lovely ladies, the class went really well, and we all had a wonderful time, and their individual layouts turned out lovely, it was great to see the different ideas and colours they came up with. I intended to get a class photo but forgot to, which is a shame.

Then off to the retreat where I did two classes on the Saturday, and it was just fabulous, the ladies were all just so wonderful to teach and I really had the best time. I met the DT Members at Scrapbook City and what a lovely bunch of talented scrappers they are, Michelle Lindenmayers was so lovely, I could have sat and chatted with her for hours, and she sent me through these photos of the Retreat, which I will share with you, as well as the lovely Katie Howard, taking a class photo for me thankyou Katie.

I shared a room with a bunch of crazy, wonderful people Jen, Deb, Terri, Trish, Ronnie, Sue and Niss and of course Lauren and myself I hope I didn't leave anyone out. When we were getting ready for the "P" Party on Saturday night we had such a laugh getting ready, it was a lot of fun. Lauren and I went as Pirates Arhhhh!!........ LOL !!

Then on the Sunday I met up with Sandra Gerdes and her lovely daughter Rachelle Minett, well what can I say talk about the best mother and daughter team, you are both wonderful you know how much I think of you both, we did a little scrapping, but mainly talking I am so good at that, Rachelle will back me up on that one LOL !!

So much to tell you, I am off to Canberra as well next wednesday, and I will be holding a class on the 8th of August 2pm to 5pm, so if you are interested just go and check this site out Quilt and Craft fair or email Judy Newman on judyn@expertiseevents.com.au for more details, I would love to see you there.

Well thats about it, I do have more to share, but I will catch up on my next blog entry, I hope you all have a wonderful week. Carole xx
